In Home Newborn Session Singleton Hunter Valley Photographer
I recently had an in home newborn session. Julia found my website and loved the images and booked me to come and visit them to take some photos of their family as it is now, with the new arrival of baby Dallas. I am always excited to visit new families and join them in this time, when things are a little different than what they were a few weeks ago.
When I get to a home I haven’t visited before I always ask if i can see the different rooms, to asses the light and work out which place would be best to work with. When I have decided on the best rooms and places to work with I discuss a plan of action of what I would hope to achieve and where to shoot in the session. My sessions are always baby led, so if bub needs feeding or changing or even just a hug, I work around that always. If there are older children I will take the time to get to know them and sometimes they will show me their favourite toys or bedrooms or animals, just like in this session. I got to meet the chicks and the ducks, and see some beautiful dance moves.
I try to make the session as relaxed as possible. There is enough time to get some beautiful images even with breaks in the session to accommodate bub’s needs. Baby Dallas even got a bath in this session, which is always a joy to photograph because they only fit in the kitchen sink for so long! I remember bathing my babies in the kitchen sink. Did you or are you doing this also?
